About Vinod Sreedhar

Hi!

I’m Vinod Sreedhar, a social entrepreneur based in India. Over the years, I have worked on a wide gamut of issues… from social activism aimed at reducing civic apathy, to creating awareness about ecological living among the youth. However, I’ve been gradually refining my focus to bring together two broad concerns…

• Our inner world, comprising our self-beliefs, our beliefs about the world and our reactions to these.
• The outer world we inhabit and how our lifestyles impact it with every choice we make.

I believe that we will be able to move beyond our current experience of violence, scarcity and personal frustrations in our relationships and the work we do only when we connect our inner world with the outer… when we find clarity within ourselves about the life we want to live.

Through SIGNPOSTS, my aim is to help you move from where you are to where you want to be… to support you in following your heart, irrespective of what you are doing today or what your background is. And to do this in a way that you can approach each day and every encounter with an unshakeable inner joy, an abiding love for what you do and a great belief in yourself and the positive impact you can have on others and on this planet. 

The ultimate objective of SIGNPOSTS is to help create more and more vibrant communities, both online and in the real world, that learn to use love, joy, trust and optimism as their benchmarks in their interactions with each other and the planet we call home.

Since 2002, I have been co-founder and partner in Phase Five (www.phasefive.org), an organization whose focus was to help create a more sustainable world by taking the initiative, developing a deeper sense of ownership/belonging to Planet Earth and by creating more democratic spaces. I also facilitate workshops on issues relevant to youth for other organizations, both local and international. Earlier, I have worked with a youth run non-profit organization in Mumbai called Association of Youth for a Better India (AYBI). Since 1997, I have also been composing music professionally for film, television and radio.
